Hillary Was Hilarious on “Between Two Ferns”… in a Bad Way
This satirical interview might be the anti-Trump card that Hillary was waiting for ahead of the first presidential debate on Monday.
In an interview with Vulture’s Jesse David Fox, Between Two Ferns creator Scott Aukerman says that Clinton didn’t know what the questions would be beforehand and her responses were improvised.
“As secretary, how many words per minute can you type?”.
Galifianakis’ popular online program generated more than 35 million views when President Barack Obama appeared on it in 2014 while he was encouraging young people to sign up for the Affordable Care Act.
The comedian deadpanned what would happen if Mrs. Clinton became pregnant in office. “Are we going to be stuck with Tim Kaine for nine months?” he asked. How does this work?
But both the president and the Democratic candidates’ appearances on the series could be part of their efforts to reach their audiences directly, instead of through the traditional press.
Clinton: I think that would be a good look on you.
Clinton: Being president would be such an extraordinary honour and responsibility. Is she “down with TPP?”, or the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The friendship between Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump: “Chelsea and Ivanka are friends, does she ever call Chelsea to talk about boys that like her, like her dad?”
In closing, Galifianakis made a wry reference to Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as America’s top diplomat, which was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“I’ll stay in the United States … and try to prevent him from destroying the United States”, Clinton said.
Hillary is having trouble shoring up the millennial vote.
Kid Rock, a Trump supporter, got name-checked when Galifianakis asked Clinton, “When he’s elected president and Kid Rock becomes Secretary of State, will you move to Canada?”
The cherry on the top of this hilarious interview was when Galifianakis told Hillary that, “We should stay in touch”.
The interview is better still when you learn that the majority of it is improvised.
