Hindu group celebrates Trump birthday with cake in New Delhi
As presumptive Republican US Presidential candidate Donald Trump turned 70 today, a right wing group held a cake cutting ceremony here to mark his birthday.
“He has promised to fight the menace of Islamic terror and that is why we are such big fans of him”, Vishnu Gupta, president of Hindu Sena, said at the event.
The group that claims to be the “saviour of Hindus”, has ordered a special two-tier cake, an orchestra and special Donald Trump masks for their so-called birthday party.
The celebrations were done under a tent decorated with balloons and posters of Trump.
Members of Hindu Sena celebrate Donald Trump’s birthday. Gupta also urged Indian-Americans to support Trump with “votes” and “notes”, i.e. cash donations. After observing a minute’s silence for the victims of the Orlando shooting, the group sang happy birthday and then cut the cake, even smearing a bit on Trump’s poster. Gupta also likes Trump because he feels the presidential candidate will become “king of the world” and will back India in a war against the nation’s bitter Muslim rival, Pakistan.
Courtesy the Sena, masks of Donald Trump will soon be seen in local markets of Delhi. Last month, a dozen members lit a ritual fire and chanted mantras asking Hindu gods to help Trump win the US presidential election.
Mr Trump has proposed a ban on Muslims entering the USA – drawing widespread criticism at home and overseas.
