Hindu terror: BJP accuses Congress of doublespeak
The BJP government is doing this to divert the attention of the people from its failure to effectively counter the threat of terrorism, to abuse and to use the parliamentary forum, to abuse and defame its opponents, particularly the Congress.
Making a statement in the Lok Sabha on Monday about the Punjab terror attack, Singh accused his predecessor P. Chidambaram for coining a new term, “Hindu terror”, which, reported by Singh, showed India as a demoralised and divided nation. As a effect, Hafiz Sayeed (LeT founder) of Pakistan had congratulated the then home minister.
India regularly accuses Pakistan’s army of providing covering fire for rebels who infiltrate across the border and then mount attacks in Indian Kashmir.
“Terrorism is the biggest challenge facing the country“.
Azad had asserted that his party needed no lesson on terrorism from BJP and cited the sacrifice of former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, both of whom were killed by terrorists.
The Congress party had on Sunday made a blistering attack on the ruling BJP and blamed it for the ongoing logjam in Parliament.
Rajnath Singh told parliament the three had crossed into Punjab state from the neighbouring country before launching their assault, which led to a gun battle with police that almost lasted 11 hours.
The Congress has insisted that the issue of action against three top BJP leaders should be on the agenda if the deadlock in Parliament is to be broken. It was concerned more about cornering the government on the Lalit Modi and Vyapam issue, rather than participating in discussion on Gurdaspur attack. The Congress charged Rajnath Singh with dividing Parliament by making a political speech on terror, against which “the entire country is one”.
He also said that the government would now try their level best to prevent cross borders attacks in the country as well as put a stop to terrorism.
