Hollyoaks star Danny Mac confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2016 cast
The 28-year-old actor will be waltzing onto the dance floor when the popular BBC show returns to the small screen next month.
Speaking about his upcoming stint on the show, Danny admitted that performing in front of the judges was the most daunting aspect of “Strictly”, joking: “I am terrified of them all!”
Danny is best known for playing Mark “Dodger” Savage on Hollyoaks. “I’ve done a few bits and bobs of secret filming for the show and it’s all become very real now”, Danny said.
Danny has been a professional actor since the age of 10, starring in the multi-award winning West End production of Wicked for four years in the ensemble and as the understudy for Boq, one of the lead male characters.
His role in Hollyoaks saw him named FIVE times at awards as the sexiest male in soap so he’s sure to add some phwoah to the dancefloor.
Will Young – who took part in the revival of’ Cabaret’ the musical, in which he was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award, in 2013 – is also on a mission to lift the highly sought after Glitterball trophy after he recently joined the line-up.
“There’s different types of dancing”.
“I first danced at college when I was 18”.
“I went to a stage school until I was 16, then I went into Eternal where we did lots of hand-clapping!”
Half an hour later, it was revealed to be the former “Hollyoaks” hunk, whose involvement will come as a surprise to “Strictly” fans, as he wasn’t among the celebrities who had been widely tipped for the new series.
