Hollywood and Bollywood celebs pay tributes to late pop superstar — George Michael
Fawaz, a celebrity hair stylist, has been linked to Michael for years but details of their relationship have been kept private for years.
George Michael first became famous as one-half of the pop duo Wham!
It is perhaps one of Michael’s sexiest hits. Their early hits included the songs “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go“, “Careless Whisper” and “Last Christmas“. Four of its singles – “Faith“, “Father Figure”, “One More Try”, and “Monkey” – reached No. 1 on the USA singles chart.
Michael’s transition from manicured pop moppet to more serious singer also benefited modern musicians, who have more license in today’s world to explore sexual fluidity, as well as being able to produce slick, hook-filled pop music for adults.
The singer’s generosity was often matched only by his desire to keep his identity secret, something Pointless presenter and former Deal Or No Deal executive producer Richard Osman alluded to when he recounted one such demonstration of Michael’s goodwill. His last album Symphonica (2014) rose to No. 1 in the charts.
He won a string of awards including two Grammies. Take a moment to watch his classic video for “Faith” below.
He added that the pop star had been looking forward to the holiday.
The late star did not have any children of his own, but it is thought that the 24-year-old could be set to be among the beneficiaries of the Club Tropicana singer’s will. I so loved my mum, and respected her. Michael also threw his support behind Aids charities, and was a patron of the Elton John Aids Foundation. That collaboration reached No. 30. I had this overwhelming feeling that the best was behind me. It signaled a change in style, with cover art showing Michael in a leather jacket, stubble and an earring and a first single entitled “I Want Your Sex“.
At only 53 years of age, George Michael has died too soon but he leaves us with a wealth of great songs, albums, and videos. Michael, who rocketed to stardom with WHAM! and went on to enjoy a long and celebrated solo career lined with controversies, has died, his publicist said Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016.
“My depression at the end of Wham! was because I was beginning to realise I was gay, not bi”, Michael told Hari in that interview.
Michael’s follow-up album to Faith was titled Listen Without Prejudice, an oddly defensive title from an artist who had achieved so much success and acclaim.
