Hollywood set for ‘Star Wars’ premiere

The Florida-born writer has already had great success with the franchise, so coming back meant putting that reputation on the line. Abrams said he hopes to captivate the audience like he was when he saw the original “Star Wars”.
One fan, Lavonne Dominguez, wasn’t interested in simply buying a ticket online to see the movie in her local movie theater. The first installment in the Star Wars prequel trilogy ended up getting a 56% “Rotten” rating on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. “I am so excited about the movie that I can put up with just about anything for a week or so”, said Scott Allen, 51, a software technician in Los Angeles. “I think they were just seeing many, many girls because obviously, if they weren’t, then I would never have been seen”.
The request, which was made via social media, was made following co-ordinated terrorist attacks across Paris last month in which 130 people died.
What “The Force Awakens” benefits from, however, is interest that now spans multiple generations.

All the writing has been under the watchful eye of Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm and an executive producer on “The Force Awakens”. Until the premiere, Abrams has kept “The Force Awakens” under tight wraps and said he discovered fans appreciated not knowing a thing.
The fans have really been the ones focused around making sure that everybody and anybody who walks into this movie gets to be surprised. She says production will begin in January on episode eight, directed by Rian Johnson.

Hollywood is preparing for one of the biggest movie premieres in its history when Star Wars: The Force Awakens is screened in three separate cinemas tonight, however fans in Somerset will have to wait until Thursday at the earliest to see the new film.
