In a meeting took place on May 21, 2015, BOI authorities alongside different airline firm chose not to delay flights and to send deportees in the following flight inside of 24 hours, if the airline takes a written responsibility of the passenger, sources said “Foreigner Regional Registration Office, Delhi ruled that in normal circumstances the passengers refused entry should be deported by the same or the first available flight”. The doctor on duty was summoned to attend to him but soon after, he was asked to leave. He was to visit the Taj Mahal along with Talwar and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, who was looking forward to hosting the actor for dinner with his family.
Orlando Bloom was invited to India as a guest of the state to promote tourism within the country, but the actor has been deported from India after arriving on Saturday without a valid visa.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup further defended the actions of the BOI officials, saying “When one applies for an electronic visa, one receives a mail saying whether the visa has been issued or rejected…”
But despite the confusion the actor was able to reach Delhi after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj intervened in the matter, as reported by The Indian Express. He further thanked the Sushma Swaraj for her intervention in helping out the actor with visa. Sheetal Talwar, who has produced Romans, starring Mr Bloom, told Mumbai Mirror: “Orlando requested the officer to allow him some time to sort out the issue since he also had a stomach bug”. It takes a minimal of seventy two hours and a most of 4 days for the visa to be processed, on the finish of which, your visa is accepted or rejected. Completely unaware of the issue with his visa, Bloom was ordered to leave the country.
