And looking back on Globes history, as Flavorwire did recently, Globes and Oscar Best Picture winners are the same only 50 percent of the time.
Sylvester Stallone, who starred in Creed, was awarded Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. The social media app didn’t track last year’s Globes, but for comparison’s sake, 2015’s Oscar telecast pulled in 9 million app users for a total of 25 million social interactions.
Best Original Song went to Spectre’s “Writing on the Wall”, performed by Sam Smith and co-written with Jimmy Napes.
Amazon took the prize for Best Comedy and Best Actor in a Comedy, just as it did previous year for “Transparent“, which went on to make its presence felt at the Emmys as well.

If you had better things to do than watch actors get awkwardly played off stage you probably missed it, but that doesn’t mean you don’t want to know who won… or who got burned the most.
Brie Larson, hailed as one of the best dressed celebrities on the red carpet, also slayed the Golden Globes competition, winning best actress-drama for Room.
The biggest tossup is in the Best Director category – only 52% of Globes winners won an Oscar for directing!
Movie or Limited Series: “Wolf Hall”. This is Gaga’s first nomination and win at the Golden Globes. Henson said she and all involved, “wanted to shake up television…and I think we did that with this show”. The Best Performance in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy – Actress was given to fellow first-time victor, Rachel Bloom.
Other films that vied for the best drama prize – and should figure in the Oscars conversation – were 1950s lesbian romance Carol, harrowing kidnap tale Room, and the summer action blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road.
