Hollywood Vampires go back to where it all began
Hollywood Vampires, the supergroup featuring Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, have announced their first live dates, set for next month. Cooper guitarist Tommy Henriksen will also be playing at the show as will bassist Bruce Witkin, who played with Depp in a band called the Kids.
This photo provided by Kyler Clark shows Alice Cooper from the musical group Hollywood Vampires. “I would walk in on a typical night and JOHN LENNON, HARRY NILSSON, KEITH MOON – who would usually be in a costume dressed like a maid or a chauffeur – BERNIE TAUPIN, JIM MORRISON, MICKEY DOLENZ or JIMI HENDRIX would all be there”.
The band also has one worldwide show scheduled at Brazil’s Rock in Rio. According to Rolling Stone, the trio will invite former Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver rhythm section Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum to join them. Tickets will go on sale on August 14 for the September 16 show at http://ticketf.ly/1EdJvSI and September 17 show at http://ticketf.ly/1W5TvIT.
“Hearing connects us to life, our families and to the world around us”, said Bill Austin, founder of Starkey Hearing Foundation.
Three years ago, Alice and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again (minus the drinking). The group will perform on the Sunset Strip this September, just after releasing their album.
Hollywood Vampires recently revealed details of their self-titled debut album, a star-studded collection of mostly covers tunes that will be released September 11. However, before the Rio gig, Hollywood Vampires are meeting with Starkey Hearing Foundation to assist 150 people with hearing aids.
