Hollywood vs. Donald Trump: All the Anti-Trump Moments From Oscars 2017
During the Oscars telecast, Kimmel used his airtime during several segments to poke fun at the names of Academy Award victor Mahershala Ali, as well as the name of his as-yet-unborn child.
The Oscars host wasted little time before laying into Trump. The winners of this year’s Academy Awards couldn’t resist taking the opportunity on stage to make reference to the new United States president who was sworn into office just over a month ago. All the anti-Trump moments during the 2017 Oscars show that Hollywood is definitely not backing down, vitriolic Twitter responses notwithstanding.

As a parting shot at the Trump family, Kimmel added.
Kimmel went on, “This is Meryl’s twentieth Oscar nomination”. Score a big win for Hollywood progressives, right? Not only that, but numerous winners and nominees are not only immigrants but in some cases can not even attend due to Trump’s politics, so politics absolutely can not be divorced from Hollywood in 2017.
Before the night was out, Kimmel took one final dig at his friend as he introduced Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, who were presenting Best Picture. The reunion was created to evoke nostalgia for their great achievement in groundbreaking American cinema, “Bonnie and Clyde”.
After presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway incorrectly named Damien Chazelle’s musical the best picture victor, La La Land producers Fred Berger and Jordan Horowitz interrupted the celebratory moment to announce that Moonlight had, in fact, won the category.
Never one to get too political, Kimmel addressed Hollywood’s Trump tension in the best way possible: by tweeting to the president himself.
Who knows if Trump was watching?
Even before, Donald Trump had always done live tweets while the Academy Awards happen.

This year, he had plenty of supporters to go on social media and celebrate this embarrassing comeuppance of the liberal elite. On Monday he boasted about his “great meeting” with healthcare CEOs.
With a country that can’t stop talking about the president and his policies, it was no surprise that the Oscars got political Sunday.
But it was the spectacular closer, when Dunaway announced the wrong best picture victor, that made an entertaining ceremony unforgettable. “It didn’t feel like a very glamorous evening”, the president said.
