Home Depot continued to sell recalled products — Federal agency
Hazards include fire, burn, shock or falls.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Home Depot are now warning consumers after 2,300 recalled products are sold even after alerts are posted.
A few of the items were sold directly to consumers, and others were sent to salvagers or recyclers who might have passed them on to their customers.
They may contact the recalling firms to receive either a refund, replacement, or fix.
Home Depot has ME stores located in Bangor, South Portland, Portland, Topsham, Auburn, Ellsworth, Waterville, Rockland, Augusta, Windham, and Biddeford.
“This was 1,800 transactions out of four billion over three years. It is irresponsible and illegal to keep selling recalled products after a recall is announced”, CSPC chairman Elliot Kaye said.
According to the commission, more information on the recall is available by calling Home Depot directly at 800-466-3337 from 8 a.m.to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
