HomeIs Sheldon Adelson Leaning Toward Marco Rubio?
Politico reported recently that billionaire Sheldon Adelson may be on the verge of endorsing Rubio and committing his considerable wealth to backing the Florida senator’s campaign.
Not planning on watching the first Democratic presidential debate Tuesday night? You can’t live off $10 an hour.
“Marco Rubio admits working families aren’t paid almost enough but he has repeatedly stood in the way of giving families a raise”.
“Even the jobs that are being created now aren’t paying enough”.
Rubio’s daylong trip marked his second visit this month to campaign in the Granite State, where he made an earlier stop Wednesday at a house party in Portsmouth.
No, the Republican presidential candidate isn’t skipping the debate to tune into the Mets-Dodgers baseball playoff game or to see who Adam Levine and Shelton choose on “The Voice”. It was basically a liberal versus liberal debate about who was going to give away the most free stuff: Free college education. “Rubio and Bush need both to stay alive right now, and the two candidates are feeding from the same troth of establishment donors”, said Uscinski. Their answer to every problem in America is a government program and a tax increase.
Rubio criticized the participants of that debate for making overtures about expanding government handouts, which he said was reminiscent of the Democratic Party of the 1980s.
Rubio’s campaign manager Terry Sullivan and two top advisers to Adelson, Rob Goldstein and Patrick Dumont, were said to have been present at the meeting. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush told a mostly-white South Carolina crowd in late September that his approach to African-American voters “isn’t one of division and get in line and we’ll take care of you with free stuff“.
