The airman returned home September 3 through Travis Air Force Base to the cheers of more than 300 friends, family and military personnel and their families. Stone suffered significant injuries while confronting Khazzani, including a gash in his neck that required 20 staples to close and a severed tendon in his left thumb that still hasn’t healed.
Stone, Sadler and Skarlatos were honored with a parade through Sacramento last month. The vehicle was provided by the show, but the keys were presented by Golden State Warriors player Klay Thompson.
Skarlatos returned last week to Roseburg, Oregon where he was living after a gunman opened fire on Skarlatos’ college, Umpqua Community College, killing nine before before the shooter turned the gun on himself.
