Honor Introduces Honor Note 8 Phablet and Honor 5 Mid-Ranger
If you think the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (or the upcoming Galaxy Note 7) is about the limit of what you can handle when it comes to modern smartphones, rest assured that OEMs are content with delivering even larger devices.
Next up is the budget friendly Honor 5, it comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display up front and runs on a Quad-Core MediaTek MT6735P processor clocked at 1.3Ghz underpinned by 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory which is expandable, 2200mAh battery and Mali-T720 GPU for graphics.
The top of the line (and positively huge) Honor Note 8 isn’t the only smartphone that Huawei has unveiled today.
The rear camera is a 13MP unit and the front camera is an 8MP unit. We all know the natural benefits of having a large screen size, and Honor Note 8 will be competing with the likes of Xiaomi Mi Max, which possesses a screen size of 6.44 inches. There’s Android 6.0 on board under Huawei’s proprietary EMUI 4.1 user interface. Honor Note 8 will come in Gray, Silver, and Gold options, while its price starts at $346. The rear camera has a F2.0 aperture and optical image stabilization. The display of this handset incorporates 2.5D curved glasses, offers NTSC color gamut up to 105% and contrast ratio to 70,000: 1. Honor also took advantage of the extra footprint to stuff in a sizable 4500mAh battery with fast charging, and implemented power-saving algorithms in order to squeeze out 13.4 hours of continuous 1080p video playback and 6.5 hours (average) of gaming.
Honor has brought forth in the Chinese market, the Honor Note 8 today at the Huawei Exhibition Center in Beijing, China. Moreover, the phone supports Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE and Bluetooth 4.1.
Additionally, it also features a fingerprint sensor, LTE capabilities, 85-degree wide angle lens.
The smartphone which borders the phablet specifications measures 178.8 × 90.9 × 7.18mm and weighs 219g. The phone is available at preorder for CNY 2,299 ($345) for the 32 GB version while the succeeding 64 GB and 128 GB versions cost CNY 2,499 ($375) and CNY 2,799 ($420) respectively.
