‘Hooyah’ – Jubilation as boys confirmed rescued from flooded Thai cave
At least two more boys have been rescued from inside Thailand’s Tham Luang Nang Non cave as the second phase of a rescue operation to evacuate a teen soccer team and its 25-year-old coach continues.
Four boys and their 25-year-old soccer coach still remain trapped underground as an global effort of volunteer divers and elite Thai Navy Seals shuttle back and forth to bring them to safety.
Officials called the four boys who have already been rescued, “hungry, but happy”. But, their conditions are unknown.
“They will be kept away from their parents for a while because we are concerned about infections”, Osatanakorn told reporters, referring to the first four boys rescued Sunday. A massive worldwide search operation was launched and it took 10 days to locate the boys, who had taken shelter on a dry slope deep in the complex. Although, dozens more divers are on hand to assist.
Wearing full-face masks, which are easier for novice divers than traditional respirators, each boy is being accompanied by two divers, who also carry his air supply.
The oxygen ports and nose cone fitted to the device would prevent damages when it comes in contact with rocks, he said. Thirteen foreign divers and five Thai divers were taking part in the operation, the governor said.

An update Saturday from the Thai navy said three navy SEALs were with the boys and their coach, one a doctor.

The boys and their coach became trapped on June 23 when they went exploring in the cave after a soccer game.
They have been guiding the boys through darkness and submerged passageways towards the mouth of the Tham Luang cave system.
Writing in elegant Thai script, the boys urged their parents not to worry, adding that they hoped they wouldn’t get too much homework after being rescued and couldn’t wait to eat their favorite foods again. Rescue chief Narongsak Osotthanakorn said Monday that the second round of extraction of trapped people resumed late Monday morning.
“If something changes, we’ll stop”, he said. “In terms of re-feeding and the regaining of strength, there’s only a certain amount of energy that you can re-accumulate, and it doesn’t happen in just a couple of days”, Auerbach said.
