Horner says Mercedes was ‘naive’ in Abu Dhabi
“Right now, I’m losing the world championship, so I’m not bothered if I win or lose this race”, he responded.
Asked how he felt the race was handled by Mercedes, he added: “We know that Toto likes to control most things in the paddock including other teams’ drivers.so you could not expect any different”. Thus, Rosberg finished second after a head-to-head race with pressure from Sebastian Vettel.
“Anarchy doesn’t work in any team or any company”, he said.

Hamilton needed Rosberg to finish outside of the top three to stand any chance of winning the title, and after both of the Mercedes cars made it through turn one without incident, Hamilton’s mind soon became occupied on finding a way for the chasing back to get past his rival.
The German won the opening four races of the season to open up a 43-point lead over Hamilton, only for the Briton to fight back – by the summer break, Hamilton had turned the deficit into a 19-point lead.
“It’s insane. It was so intense the race so I think it’s going to take some time to settle and come out because it was really intense out there and so tough”, added the 31-year-old.
He said a big career turning point came in Austin previous year, when Hamilton secured his third title and annoyed Rosberg by aggressively nudging him wide on turn one.
Hamilton was directed by his team on a number of occasions during the race to pick up the pace.
Rosberg complained, asking that the team “consider doing something”, while Hamilton simply said “let us race”. “We were fighting for the world championship”.
Rosberg opened the campaign strongly, while Hamilton suffered from mechanical failures, and the German had a 43-point advantage by the Russian Grand Prix.
“It was only ever going to be that kind of battle between the two of them”, Horner was reported as saying by the Daily Mail. “Austin was a frightful experience for me and I really spent two days just on my own thinking and I said I didn’t ever want to experience that again”, he confessed.
“But it’s also everybody who supports me in the world – everyone who came this weekend, the people close to me, my team, my racing family, my family. It’s a shame that they wouldn’t but it’s quite clear their thought process and yeah I mean I don’t really have much to say”, Hamilton said, as qouted by F1’s official website.
