Sacramento Kings guard Rajon Rondo has set the Kings’ single-game record for assists with 20 in a 127-122 overtime loss to the Charlotte Hornets Monday.
The Kings led 91-69 with 2:24 left in the third quarter, before Kemba Walker and the Hornets took over.
Walker scored 21 of Charlotte’s 38 fourth-quarter points and gave the Hornets a lead in the final second of regulation. Nicolas Batum finished just shy of a triple-double, tallying 18 points and team highs in both rebounds (10) and assists (eight)… Fortunately for Charlotte, leading-scorer, Kemba Walker, was there for the offensive rebound and notched a quick put-back layup to stretch Charlotte’s lead to five, officially sealing the monstrous comeback win against the Kings. Kemba Walker was absolute dominant, finishing with a season-high 39 points while DeMarcus Cousins led all Sacramento players with 30 points in the defeat.
Al Jefferson scored 10 points on the night.

The Charlotte Hornets out rebounded the Kings 48-46.
The Hornets committed 19 turnovers on the game but force the Kings to commit 20.
Charlotte outscored Sacramento 62-50 in points in the paint. This will be their first match-up of the season and the Hornets will look to win their fourth straight game. They were coming off a 113-88 win over Philadelphia Friday…. If those numbers sustain, and the Hornets continue shooting well from three this year, they should make it back to the playoffs this season.
