Horsey keeps lead in Denmark, 1 shot ahead of Pilkadaris
His three birdies were cancelled out by two bogeys on the back nine.
The Danish golfer was playing in the Made in Denmark tournament and managed to pull off a very impressive birdie on a par three, but it was what he did next that brought him to tears.
Starting on the 10th hole, the Englishman shot an eagle on the par-5 11th and five consecutive birdies on Nos.
Scotland’s former Open champion Paul Lawrie was a shot further back on six under.
With the Himmerland Hill crowd cheering, Harto reached into his pocket, pulled out a ring, asked for her hand in marriage and Louise said “yes” before hugging and kissing her husband-to-be.
“The magic number crept into my head going down the fourth – my 13th – and I wouldn’t say it affected me too much, but I three-putted, then made a mess of the next hole”, Horsey added. He excelled on the front nine, picking up strokes on six successive holes from the third, including an eagle at the sixth.
“It is a fantastic start to the tournament”, admitted Farr.
Horsey, who is chasing a fourth European Tour win but has had just one top-10 finish this year, put his charge down to the reinvigorating effects of a recent break.
Harto was not able to tempt Lady Luck to also smile on him as he finished two rounds on five over par and missed the cut.
