Hotel where Jeremy Clarkson punched Top Gear producer given plaque to
An unknown guest has gifted a plaque commemorating Jeremy Clarkson’s Top Gear days to the hotel in which he famously scuffled with an Irish BBC producer.
“From A-Z”, the show is being billed as a “two-part extravaganza” that celebrates the Top Gear’s highly successful run from 2002-2015.
There was one point in Jeremy Clarkson’s career where no one thought he would ever be de-throned from his top spot at the BBC.
Clarkson was removed as presenter of the show back in March after an altercation with producer Oisin Tymon, who he punched following a row over catering arrangements while filming on location.
When you’re handed a one of a kind plaque by one of your guests, you do everything in your power to make sure that that plaque is hung in a place of distinction. “The rest is legend”. On a more serious note, the special will go on to highlight the “brilliant journalism, attractive photography, and the trio of middle aged men who sat at the heart of the show”.
Clarkson is now making a show with fellow former presenters James May and Richard Hammond for rival subscription service Amazon Prime, while Chris Evans is fronting a new version of Top Gear that is scheduled to air next year. Since the 2-star hotel – Simonstone Hall – is located in Yorkshire Dales, UK, the British humor also has something to do with the move.
The venue’s owners said it would hang on the patio of the hotel where the incident took place.
