House bill targets health law, Planned Parenthood funds
Though the Planned Parenthood caller does not state the perforation was due to a botched abortion, Cheryl Sullenger, Operation Rescue’s senior Vice President said that uterine perforations generally occur when the sharp abortion suction cannula, which is used to dismember the preborn baby, is thrust too deep into the uterus, tearing a hole in the woman’s womb. From hearings on Capitol Hill to floors of state legislatures, the videos have sparked new debate not only about the nature of abortion itself, but about the appropriateness of using tax dollars to fund them.
While pro-lifers across the country gather at Planned Parenthood clinics this weekend, one longtime activist hopes more people are commiting to the cause.
Days before a national protest outside Planned Parenthood, Operation Rescue has obtained audio documentation of a third emergency call to a Planned Parenthood in the state of Washington.
Michele Hendrickson, a regional coordinator for the Planned Parenthood Project and a member of Students for Life of America, explains that the project is traveling around the United States by bus, stopping at college campuses to inform students about the statistics surrounding abortion at Planned Parenthood and to encourage them to choose other healthcare options.
“They serve a demographic that often times doesn’t have access to care“.
“7 in 10 Americans believe women should be able to make their own health care decisions”.
Myth 2: Planned Parenthood provides services women can’t get anywhere else.
“It’s pretty wonderful. It’s just coming together as a community for women’s health and just providing support for basic reproductive health care needs”, she said.
“Hendrickson notes that there are “…thousands of federally qualified health centers out there that do not commit abortions. It’s because Planned Parenthood’s talking points bear little resemblance to the truth.
According to Lifenews.com, Planned Parenthood made a minimum of million from abortions in 2010.
“Mr. Daleiden and his group engaged in a host of potentially illegal activities, including filing false documents with government agencies, falsely impersonating a legitimate business concern, soliciting charitable contributions under false pretenses, and secretly recording Planned Parenthood officials without their consent”, wrote Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD). The crosses, totaling 897, were symbolic of the number of abortions that the group claims Planned Parenthood performs every day.
