House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi says Iran nuclear deal ‘will have my
Pelosi’s support is a big win for President Barack Obama. She acknowledged that for some Democrats it would be a tough vote but said she would work to educate lawmakers during Congress’ 60-day review period.
According to the Associated Press, Pelosi declared to reporters at her weekly news conference that the agreement lauded by the Obama administration “will have [her] strong support”. Ending those sanctions is the key USA offer to Iran in exchange for curtailing its development of a nuclear weapon.
While the Department of Homeland Security has blamed San Francisco’s policy for that death, Pelosi said she blames Congress for failing to pass immigration reform.
Obama has pledged to veto any legislation that halts successful implementation of the P5+1 nuclear agreement.
Pelosi said she does not support a GOP proposal to implement mandatory prison sentences for deported illegal immigrants to return to the United States.

Also on Thursday, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) announced that the first of many hearings on the agreement will take place on July 23.
