Houston Astros Acquire Ken Giles From Philadelphia Phillies

Philadelphia is due to receive left-hander Brett Oberholtzer, right-hander Vincent Velasquez and a minor-leaguer.

The Houston Astros will reportedly acquire Philadelphia Phillies closer Ken Giles, according to multiple reports.

McCullers, 22, was 6-7 with a 3.22 ERA in 22 starts as a rookie for the Astros last season with 129 strikeouts in in 125.2 innings.

Fisher, now 22, hit.275/.364/.483 with 22 home runs and 31 stolen bases in 123 games across two Class-A levels in 2015, playing center field and left field. Giles was the Phillies’ seventh-round draft pick in the 2011 draft.

Giles, 25, assumed the closer role for the Phillies in July and finished with a 1.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 15 saves and 87 strikeouts in 69 appearances.
