Houston student, 14, charged with making clown terror threat
The student is accused of using an image of a clown to make the threat to one HISD school, which was not named. The official charge is making a terroristic threat.
The teen was arrested and charged. Houston ISD confirms a 14-year-old boy was arrested for making a threat on social media.
4th grade teacher Margaret Cupp says, after being a school teacher for many years, pranks and threats are not new, and all teachers have been trained for this sort of situation.
The Spring Independent School District issued a security statement overnight due to new clown threat hoaxes made online.
Anyone with concerns with the threats of clowns is encouraged to call Kenosha Police for details and information.
The facts of the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
“The safety of our children and the communities surrounding our schools is a top priority for us and we are taking this matter seriously”, officials said. “Other than that, school goes on as normal”.
Moses says the district is taking the threats seriously, even though others across the county have been deemed to be hoaxes.
A copy of the threat posted on social media was provided to FOX 7.
Houston ISD contacted parents of Northside High, Westside High and Tanglewood Middle on Friday and told them those schools had been targeted by the same threat.
The post involved a message from a clown carrying black balloons.

“Dollars 262 administrators and Valley Center Police Department are working collaboratively to investigate any and all posts that may be viewed as a safety concern”. Eastlake and Willoughby were but two local school districts where threats have been investigated recently.
On Sunday night, BPD said they received reports of clowns walking around Recreation Park.
In Virginia, it is against the law for anyone over the age of 16 to wear a clown mask to hide their identity.
