Houston Texans’ Jadeveon Clowney back on the practice field following surgery
Clowney had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee after injuring it in the season opener in 2014.
After such a serious surgery even the limited basis is a enormous step for Clowney this quickly, as it has been roughly just 8 months since the first overall pick from 2014 had the invasive procedure done, which some times can take closer to a year to recover from. It’s the first time he’s been out there since his December microfracture surgery.
Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (right) is expected to make his training camp debut Monday, per coach Bill O’Brien.
With Clowney coming back to practice this week, there’ a real chance that he’ll be in the defensive rotation by Week 1. We’re all looking forward to seeing him back out there on the field because we know he can help us. “Just happy to be back out there and be with my teammates”. The Houston Texans, however, aren’t sure when the former South Carolina star will play in a game. You’ll have plenty of opportunities.’ I’m exhausted of hitting blocking dummies that don’t hit back.
“We’re going to get him back out there and he’ll be in the walkthroughs”, O’Brien said Sunday. We talk about little things and the knee and all that. I know what it is like, I have done it twice. “It was hard some days”.
“I do feel like kind of a rookie because I didn’t get to play more than what, four games”, he said. I think he did his research as well.
“Laughing and giggling with the guys”, Clowney said on Monday. “We put a plan together, and we followed it up and it’s working out”. He’s definitely excited. He’s wanted to be a part of the group instead of all the way over there on the side of the field, instead of spectating.
“He is very passionate, motivated, and focused toward getting back here and playing”, Cushing said.
