Houston Texans lineman Brandon Ivory charged in burglary – Story – Kitsap Sun
The 23-year-old defensive tackle was taken into custody by authorities just hours after the alleged home burglary.
According to police, Ivory and an accomplice kicked in the backdoor at a residence in Tuscaloosa and proceeded to steal two Apple iPads and some money. One was wielding an assault rifle and the other had a knife.
Ivory was signed as an undrafted free agent after completing his career at Alabama and will likely now need to have those charges cleared in order to get a second chance at finding a job in the National Football League. Brent Blankley says one of the suspects assaulted a victim and stole cash and two iPads, then both suspects escaped in a 2003 gray Toyota Corrolla.
Officers received information that helped them locate the two suspects.
Ivory and Gibson were taken to the Tuscaloosa Police Department and questioned by criminal investigators.
Gibson was also charged with two counts of burglary in the first degree and placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail pending $120,000 bond.
Ivory’s agent told ESPN.com Wednesday that his client is not guilty.
The 6-foot-4 Ivory, who weighs about 310 pounds, and 21-year-old Nicholas Gerald Gibson III are both charged with two counts of burglary.
