Houston Texans reveal 2018 preseason opponents
The Raiders will open the season at home against the Lions and finish the preseason against the Seattle Seahawks for the 13th straight season. The Ravens will be playing in five preseason games for the first time in team history, as they will be playing in the Hall of Fame Game against the Chicago Bears. The only specific date for a game was August 30 against Tennessee, although kickoff time wasn’t scheduled.
Week three, usually the regular-season dress rehearsal, will put all eyes on the quarterbacks.
In the preseason game that matters the most, the Panthers have drawn a tough opponent in the reigning AFC Champion Patriots.
Andrew Luck’s first game in over a year may very well be against the Seahawks in the first week of the preseason, if he is healthy by then.
Why to watch: It will be the first chance to see the new-look Titans – new head coach, new players, new uniforms – on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Because the Jets “visited” the Giants previous year, they had just one true preseason road trip, to Detroit. In 2017, Denver finished with a flawless 4-0 preseason record.
Game 2: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (weekend of August 16-19).
As for the Raiders’ regular season schedule, that slate will come out later this month. This will be the 32nd consecutive year the Chargers, who host the 49ers in Los Angeles during the 2018 regular season, will face off in the preseason.
Unless you are Davis Webb, the announcement of the Giants’ preseason opponents isn’t likely to trigger much of a rise out of you.
That means new Giants coach Pat Shurmur will debut against the only other team he’s ever led as head coach in Cleveland (2011-12) in a battle of the NFL clubs that now hold the top two picks in this month’s NFL Draft.
