How Disney’s Beauty and The Beast (1991) Should Have Ended
As directed by Bill Condon (Chicago, Dreamgirls and Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid, if Lindsay Lohan gets enough RTs, I guess?), much unnecessary fuss has already been made over this supposedly more progressive B&B.
Emma Watson’s Belle is also exactly the same as the original, and while Watson certainly looks the part, she clearly struggles to act opposite CGI, which when coupled with her singing makes for a weak performance.
The new live action version of Beauty And The Beast starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens hits cinemas this weekend.
I’m pretty sure if Disney, Netflix, Google, Facebook, and Apple combined to form one giant company the entire universe would be taken care of.
For a live adaptation of a traditionally animated story, the film did remarkably well imitating the style of its predecessor.
You know the plot: a selfish prince (Dan Stevens) is cursed and turned into a giant Beast, living in his castle with his servants, who have been transformed into household objects. The film’s strength, however, comes from its characters.
What could possibly be better than Emma Watson?
Belle encounters the beast when she leaves home to search for her father, Maurice, who has gotten lost in the woods.
How did they bring Beast to life?
The remake was entertaining, charming and witty. Luke Evans plays the evil Gaston, a guy even scarier than the Beast. Belle’s wanna-be suitor Gaston and his right-hand man Le Fou step up, taking a crowd of villagers along with them. There are new songs and the beloved characters are more fleshed out. It fits well with Gaston’s plotline and deserves little, if any of the backlash it’s received.
The film does have pacing problems and the CGI work needed to be better but, all in all, the film will please most audiences.
What did he pay to direct Beauty and the Beast?
In fact, most of the film is a visual delight; whether it’s Beast’s tattered clothing blowing in the wind, or the colourful sing-a-longs that punctuate the movie. She is such a attractive Disney princess.
