How Joggers Are Changing Their Running Habits After Deaths of 3 Women
With no break in the case, Phil and Cathy Vetrano have created a GoFundMe account, raising more than $100,000 in reward money that they hope will loosen the lips in their close-knit neighborhood.
Time Magazine relays the words that are written on the GoFundMe page in regards to the initiative.
“We need your help in bringing this vicious animal to face the most sever [e] punishment allowable by law”, he wrote. In an update posted Thursday, Vetrano’s family thanked the donors for their contributions and said that fliers with the $100,000 reward were being posted throughout Howard Beach.

Police were called but it was Mr Vetrano who made the discovery of his daughter’s body during the search. Her clothes were in disarray, indicating a possible sexual assault, said police, who are still searching for her assailant. The fundraising goal has since been raised to $200,000. “Five dollars, $10 – we need to raise this money very quickly”.

Although authorities are “unnerved” by the murders, they are not entirely sure that the two can be linked.
In Los Angeles, a group of women joggers has similar concerns. Two fatal attacks on women runners in NY and MA have given new fuel to the female athlete’s worst nightmare, that they could be set upon by a stranger if they chose to train alone. Ionnou’s words were shared. She’s always on the lookout for people who might want to harm a woman running alone.
