How Much Would You Pay to Get Your Etsy Fix ASAP?
When a user selects Etsy ASAP during the checkout process, they’ll be able to choose from three-hour delivery windows based on seller availability. Powered by the Postmates API, sellers have total control and flexibility, and can set their pick-up availability and change it at any time. The windows range from 6 a.m.-9 a.m. all the way until 9 p.m.-12 a.m. The minimum amount of time needed to order is around 2 hours ahead of time, though morning deliveries need to be placed by 7 p.m. the previous day.
Shoppers in parts of New York can explore over 5,000 products available for Etsy ASAP delivery on both desktop and mobile from the Etsy App. The pilot program is open to all of Etsy’s three main categories -vintage, handmade, and supplies.
With the plethora of lower-cost alternatives, it’s unclear if there will be high demand for Etsy merchandise, or if shoppers will simply turn to other, less expensive services to fulfill their need for last-minute gifts. Once they review the feedback received from both buyers and sellers the company will consider expanding.

Sellers can also track the progress of the delivery from the time the item is picked up to when the package reaches the customer. “Similar to experiences like those at craft fairs and markets, Etsy ASAP makes it easier for shoppers to discover and support local makers”.
“Everyone tends to fall behind when they are holiday shopping, or planning on holiday shopping – now if they do, then they have Etsy ASAP as an option”, said Calia Talmor, an Etsy senior product manager.
“This pilot, slated to run through the holiday season, arrives on the heels of the new Etsy Local mobile experience, which helps shoppers on-the-go find Etsy items and sellers nearby at events or local shops, and is the latest example of Etsy’s efforts to foster and grow local marketplaces”, an Etsy spokesperson tells WebProNews.
