How Ray Rice is using NFL contacts to possibly land roster spot
Ray Rice has been initiating contact with NFL teams in an attempt to have him join a team for training camp.
Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice wants the same possibility to resume his NFL career as Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy had – both of whom missed almost the whole entire 2014 season for off-field transgressions in that embarrassed the league.
Ed Werder of ESPN said, “Rice, 28, has relocated from the Baltimore area to Connecticut and has been working out daily to be in shape for a chance he might never be provided”.
So far this off season no teams have had any reported serious interest Rice.
Rice still remains the most controversial NFL player of this generation so finding a landing spot would be hard to say the least.
Rice is one of the few players ever to be black listed from the NFL because of the now infamous elevator tape that showed Rice knocking out his fiancée (now wife).
Back in May, there were a lot of rumors that the Dallas Cowboys would be one of the teams possibly interested in signing the free agent.
When Pittsburgh running back Le’Veon Bell was injured in the last game of the regular season, there was a few thought that the Steelers might sign Rice for their playoff game the following week against the Ravens. He was reinstated in the NFL last December and his domestic violence charges were dismissed in May.
And, as mentioned by a report, he is enlisting the help of former Rutgers coach Greg Schiano. Jerry Jones, who believes in numerous second chances, may even feel that Rice has used up all of his.
