How to calm a crying baby
One question that all new moms and dads want to know the answer to is how to calm a crying baby.
Dr Robert Hamilton, founder of Pacific Ocean Pediatrics in Santa Monica, California, posted the video to YouTube on Sunday – and it’s since been viewed more than two million times.
Dr Hamilton shows off his trick with a young patient. Next, grasp the child by the bottom with your other hand, holding the child at a 45-degree angle.
The doctor folds the baby’s left and right arms in together across the chest and secures them with his left hand.
A pediatrician’s YouTube video showing you how to calm a crying baby nearly instantly is going viral.
“Parents have learned it and have experienced great success at home”, according to the video description.
Dr Hamilton, who has been a paediatrician for 30 years, suggests folding the baby’s arms across their front and then holding them with one of your hands.
Now watch his simple, easy-to-use technique to stop an infant from crying. Throughout the entire process, he suggests gently shaking the child’s bum back and forth.
However, for parents at the end of their tether, it’s got to be worth a try.
