How to cure your hangover
While it’s obviously acceptable to be hungover on New Year’s Day, it’s not exactly fun. Congeners are chemicals produced during the process of colors and flavors the drinks. You may or may not remember what you did last night, but you will remember how horrid you felt the next morning. However, we can certainly help you soften the blow of your hangover, as it were, with a few tips, tricks, and useful tools. But it also stops you from having as much rapid eye movement, or REM, sleep, which is important for recharging your mental batteries.
And while the advent of pop-up hangover I.V. stations may seem like a desirable way to avoid the ER, Hensrud said if you feel like you need an I.V. you should probably just go to the hospital.
While coffee may help cure your throbbing headache, low-sugar electrolyte-replacement drinks, like Pedialyte, can help hydrate after a night of dehydrating cocktails. Furthermore, as alcohol is a depressant, consuming alcohol when exhausted will, in general, simply increase one’s level of tiredness while magnifying alcohol’s traditional effects. This is the sleepless night of every year in which most people get extremely drunk.
Now, on to food. Never mix or you’ll get a terrible hangover, but you still have plenty to worry about.
Start with a big, hearty breakfast. If you’re going to drink, do so on a full stomach to slow the absorption of alcohol from your stomach into your bloodstream. Fuel up with a breakfast of whole-wheat toast, or porridge, but don’t stop there. Take an antacid first if you have to.
But it’s not just breakfast you need to worry about. Before your New Year’s party, eat a hearty snack that includes protein, carbohydrate and healthy fats.
Let’s stick with the whole “sport” as a metaphor for binge drinking just a little bit longer. File under “the bleeding obvious” if you like, but drinking across an entire evening (or entire day and evening) has to be approached as an endurance event if you want to avoid a hangover. For starters, it’s going to help you pace yourself. All of which is totally easy, provided you’re also in the running for a f***ing sainthood.
Instead, try to drink strategically.
The term hangover refers to a variety of signs and symptoms that are a direct result of drinking too much alcohol and combine to make up some of the worst mornings of your life.
Another thing you should be careful about is what you drink.
Oh, and If you haven’t been drinking water throughout the evening, you should probably start now.

For that study, a team of Dutch researchers asked 826 students to describe their most recent drinking experience that led to a hangover, and whether they’d eaten or drunk anything before.
According to Shape magazine, limiting your drinks to one per hour gives your body a chance to metabolize the alcohol.
“There’s no magical quick fixes”, Lantz-DeGeorge said of hangover cures.
