How to turn off app notifications on Android

Since Google is the king of search engines, Google Maps for iPhone is no exception. Only the banks themselves will be able to work out the lifetime customer value or indeed the lifetime customer cost for each but it should not be forgotten that banking apps are primarily self help utilities, if a customer is helping him or herself then they aren’t taking up call centre or in-store resource. That’s the idea behind Crossroad, an app that makes it easy to share memories with the people who matter and maybe not with your entire following on Instagram and Twitter.
Transit directions are limited to San Francisco, New York, Toronto, and London at the moment, but they’re pretty well executed: The route preview, which lets you swipe through the steps and tells you how often the subway goes is neat, and the walking directions inside train stations are pretty damn magical. You’ll need to enter your passcode to continue, if you have one, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

The whole process only takes a minute or two.
iOS 9 does a few things for your battery life, all of them fantastic. It’s more useful for when you have an app you barely use and you want to stop it notifying you every moment of the waking day. I’ll talk more about that next when we discuss Android. It feels like a half-baked attempt to match Dropbox’s one-stop file manager that lets you see everything you’ve got stored in the cloud. The Android app is said to apply this feature in a very peculiar way, though.
Android also has a range of visual effects to make it appear more sleek and sophisticated, but these too can affect performance. The most noticeable is probably the fast-app switcher: Instead of the 2D card view you used to get on double-tapping the home button, you now get a 3D carousel of cards, going backwards in time.
In Developer Options, tap Window animation scale, Transition Animation scale and (if you have it) Animator duration scale in turn and set each to Off. It can be hard to sift through all of the nonsense in order to find the gems that are actually worth downloading and using.
