How to use fireworks safely this New Year’s holiday
If you are going to light fireworks off for New Year’s please be safe and make sure they are away from anything that can catch on fire. One of his favourite fireworks this year is called “The Bomber”.
Murfreesboro’s City Council recently approved Ordinance 15-O-49 amending Murfreesboro City Code, Chapter 12-Fire Prevention, Section 12-30 regarding Prohibited Sales, Use and Possession of Fireworks. Use fireworks outdoors, away from homes, dry grass, and trees.
Agencies at both county and state levels are encouraging area residents to use discretion in celebrating the advent of 2016 with fireworks.
With it being New Year’s Eve, the Fire and Rescue Service wants to remind people to be careful when discharging fireworks during this evening’s celebrations.
(F) It shall be unlawful for any person within the City to use, possess, sell or offer for sale any bottle rocket.
Remove any debris from roofs or decks where fireworks might land.
· Never allow young children to play with or ignite fireworks.
Krusich says a number of their stores participates in annual safety events where, working with local fire departments, experts teach people how to properly light and handle fireworks.
Never experiment or make your own fireworks. Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water. “Leave fireworks to the professionals and have emergency escape plans in place for not only your home, yet for public venues as well”.
