HTC launches One A9, Desire 828 in India
“MTN is excited to offer this niche smartphone to its customers who are looking for a smartphone that is distinct to what is now available in the market”.
Also coming in at 40 percent off is the One M9 flagship phone from November 30 to December 2, while the HTC RE action camera will go on sale at 60 percent off its original price during the same period.
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the HTC Sense UI skin on top, the HTC One A9 is the company’s first Marshmallow-based handset.
At its launch event, the One A9 was accompanied by the Desire 828, a phone that the company claims is targeted at users who love to click the selfies because despite its mass market and mainstream focus, it has a 4-megapixel “ultrapixel” camera on the front.
While the specs might seem upper mid-range, the device will sell for R10 199, or R479 per month for 24 months on contract. At the global launch late last month, HTC America President, Jason Mackenzie, promised that the unlocked HTC One A9 will receive every Android OS update within 15 days of the Nexus range.
To recall, HTC One A9 has been much in the news for the much-reported similarity of its design to the iPhone 6. With this though the One A9 has become the first device to use the Snapdragon 617 chipset.
HTC One A9 sports a 5 inch Full HD (1080×1920 pixels) Display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. Today the company had officially launched the device in India along with the mid-range Desire 828 smartphone.
One A9 comes with a 13 Megapixel BSi Sensor rear camera with dual LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization. It also comes with a 13 MP rear camera, and 4MP UltraPixel camers.
The dual-SIM (both Nano-SIM cards) dual-4G HTC Desire 828 Dual SIM is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC (clocked at 1.5GHz) and 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of built-in storage, and also supports microSD card slot for expandable storage up to 2TB. 4 / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, Global Positioning System / A-GPS + GLONASS.
