HTC launches the Desire 10, an attractive mid-range phone
The Desire 10 Pro is slated for an October launch at an undisclosed, but presumably more expensive price point.
Keep in mind that the Pro is on the large side of handsets, packing a 5.5-inch full HD screen able to display 1,920 x 1,080p resolutions. The phone also includes the company’s “BoomSound” that brings 24-bit Hi-Res audio support.
It packs a 20-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, a BSI sensor, an f/2.2 aperture, and Auto HDR mode. The 100p display and the cameras of this version are also more impressive than the ones found in the “lifestyle” variant, the selfie camera is a 13MP one, while the back camera has a 20MP lens.
The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle has different specifications to the Desire 10 Pro, the handset comes wit a 5.5 inch display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Both offer a microSD slot for expansion, so fret not.
I’ve heard whispers that the Desire 10 Lifestyle will be priced around £250 in the United Kingdom, which sounds a big ask, putting it directly against the likes of the OnePlus 2. Both the smartphones, Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro will be available in Stone Black, Polar White, Royal Blue, and Valentine Lux colours – with availability depending on the market. The Pro model is the beefier of the two, but both are decent handsets that will please smartphone users both inside and outside of the target demographic. Both phones also give you access to HTC themes for putting a custom look on your home screen.
The HTC Desire 10 lifestyle will be available later this month, although the company has yet to reveal a United Kingdom price or specific launch date.
HTC’s Desire 10 phones have an attractive design, and the gold metal lines on the backs of the two devices are a nice touch.
In the United Kingdom the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle price has been set at £249 for the 3GB/32GB variant, which makes it rather attractive.
In contrast the lifestyle model doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. Similar to the Desire 10 Pro, the Desire 10 Lifestyle too will be available in two basic memory configurations – 2GB of RAM coupled with 16GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM paired with 32GB of internal storage.
It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel one on the front. Neither phone will be available in the U.S. The device will run Android Marshmallow and include a 2700mAh battery pack.
Those are solid foundations on which to build, and with an appealing design too the Desire 10 Pro could well make waves – but that all depends on the price, which is now unknown. The Lifestyle features a non-removable battery with a 2,700mAh capacity.
