HTC One A9 With Android 6.0 Marshmallow, iPhone-Like Design Launched
With colours inspired by nature and design inspired by the Apple iPhone 6, HTC has unveiled the latest version of its One smartphone- the HTC One A9. You can also use the 13-megapixel camera os optical image stabilization and RAW support, the latter of which will give you uncompressed photos for easier editing.
According to an article by Christian Today, the One A9 Aero seems to show that the Taiwanese tech giant will cut the usual One M-Series and start a whole new line in the A-Series.
On the software side, HTC emphasizes the Android 6.0 Marshmallow roots.
It’s going for $400 in the U.S. and £429 in the United Kingdom, when buying direct from HTC, giving you the looks of the iPhone without the price. HTC has abandoned their stylish and unique One design and gone with a flat design that’s very reminiscent of the iPhone 6.
Inside, the HTC one A9 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 3GB or RAM and 32GB of storage.
HTC has also spared a few mention worthy efforts on the Audio which includes the HTC Boomsound mated with Dolby Audio technology and a DAC that delivers at a bit rate of 24-bit which will minimise the audio loss and, in fact, amplify the audio when connected with speakers or auto audio. For storage, users get to pick between 16GB and 32GB, with both variants supporting microSD card for external storage.
With the A9, HTC aims not only to build upon many of its pioneered features but also purposely borrows from what is considered the top of the industry, to address many consumer needs.
Only released officially last month, Android 6.0 offers improved battery efficiency and tweaked app permissions aimed at quelling concerns over Google’s privacy record. On a positive note, the phone comes with a Quick Charge 2.0 and is compatible with Quick Charge 3.0.
That means small, iterative updates should arrive on the One A9 weeks, if not months, before rivals.
In the front, there’s a secondary 4-UltraPixel camera for selfies and video calls, which can capture full HD (1080p) video. The handset is available in four different color options; Opal Silver, Carbon Grey, Deep Garnet and Topaz Gold.
In a PR gambit which could work wonders, HTC’s USA boss revealed that the One A9 would be receiving the newest version of Android within 15 days of Google rolling it out to Nexus phones and tablets. The handset comes with a big promise.
