HTC unveils its new mid-range Desire 530, 630 and 825 smartphones
The HTC Desire 825 will come in Stratus White Remix with duo colour micro splash and Graphite Gray Remix with gold micro splash colour options. HTC has launched three mid-range smartphones – Desire 530, Desire 630 and the Desire 825. HTC will also be throwing in a high quality pair of headphones for the two slightly-higher-numbered devices. You get the same 720p display, but this time at 5.5-inches. It supports 4G LTE connectivity, dual speakers (each placed at the front and bottom), BoomSound, Dolby audio and is packaged with Hi-Res audio headset.
On the inside the X9 is powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 Octa-core 64 bit processor, with 3GB of RAM.
On the software side you’re looking at Sense 7 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and the version of Sense we previewed on the X9 seemed closer to Sense proper, as opposed to the more Google-influenced interface of the A9. It’ll be interesting to see if it pays off the HTC.
Samsung has unveiled their new Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones while LG truly surprised with its G5 announcement – but HTC isn’t left out in the cold, as it took a different approach with its new mid-range Desire smartphones. There are some noticeable improvements, though, namely a 5.5-inch 720p display, BoomSound stereo speakers and a larger (2,700mAh) battery. Each of the devices feature a new design trend called “Micro Splash”, which HTC says gives each of polycarbonate bodies of the devices a unique pattern of dots. The integration of Live Make-Up on the Desire 630 and 825 ensures that your can touch up your face so that it always looks as good as your phone.
“The HTC Desire 530 comes in at the low end of the pack, using a quad core Snapdragon 210 chipset along with a 5” 720p IPS LCD.
Hi-Res Audio also features in the Desire 630. HTC wouldn’t let us snap photos of anything but the back of the phone, since it still isn’t final hardware.
With a phone that makes you stand out from the crowd, you want to feel as good as you look. The Desire 530 features an 8-megapixel camera, while the Desire 630 boosts up to a 13-megapixel camera.
The HTC Desire 630 is essentially the same phone, except smaller.
HTC also revealed that its latest Desire phones are the first to include its sensor hub technology, allowing for features like Motion Launch and activity recognition – features that had been limited to its high-end devices until now.
