Huawei launched the much anticipated Honor 6X at CES 2017

The front camera on 6X has 8-megapixel sensor.

According to Digital Trends, one of the low points of Huawei Honor 6X is its operating system. The rear camera features an adequate 12 MP sensor paired with a 2 MP sensor, which can only be suitable for detecting depth of field to create effects. Honor’s new Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) camera technology ensures low noise in low light photos and suppresses blur.

The three variants that were launched in China in October were – 3GB RAM / 32GB inbuilt storage, 4GB RAM / 32GB inbuilt storage and 4GB RAM / 64GB inbuilt storage. Under the hood of Honor 6X runs a HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor. Now to Honor 6X, the device dominates this round with a large 3,340 mAh battery that’s been optimized to last days on end.

The device will be available in gold, silver or grey colour variants and also feature a fingerprint scanner.

The Honor 6X costs $249.99 for the base version with 3 GB of RAM, hitting USA shelves starting January 15, but those who want to preorder the device may do so starting January 4. Photos appear duller and more blurry than similar ones shot with the Mate 9, which carries the Leica branding just like the very good P9 from previous year. The primary rear camera has f/2.2 aperture and Laser AF. The brand exclusively uses processors developed in-house by Huawei. It also has an expandable storage option with the provided MicroSD card slot that can accept upto another 128GB.

You won´t believe it, but this software is the Emotion UI 4.1, which is built on top of the Android 6 Marshmallow.

The Honor 6X is available on pre-order in the United States and Europe. We can expect the Indian version of the phone to have the same features.

Weighing 162g, the Honor 6X has a 5.5 inch Full HD display and measures 8.2mm thick. There’s 5A fast-charging, but oddly microUSB has been used instead of the new USB-C standard that’s becoming far more common. An actual release date is set for January 15th in the USA, and shortly thereafter for other regions around the globe.

It is worth mentioning that the Honor 5X has also been a success.
