Huawei made a 10-inch Android tablet with a stylus
Huawei is quickly emerging as a global powerhouse in the consumer electronics space, taking the number 3 spot. That’s right, the firm unveiled a new versions of its Android Wear smartwatch named, brilliantly, Huawei Watch for Lady.
I’m not really understanding why a “female focused” watch needs to come with jewels, but that’s exactly what the company is offering with the new “Jewel” model, which comes with Swarovski crystals. But if you weren’t quite happy with the more masculine design, the company has introduced what it claims is a more feminine take.
Huawei Watch Elegant and Jewel will be available in the U.S.in the first quarter of 2016.
Huawei has also officially announced that the Watch will include the ability to make calls straight from the Watch (we’ve already seen this feature go live on the older Huawei Watch model, so we’re assuming it was disabled until just recently).
Also on the smartphone front Huawei announced that the Nexus 6P will soon be made available in a “matte gold” flavour.
There’s also a $419 gold model with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and an “M-Pen” active stylus.
During our hands-on with the Android device, the Chinese manufacturer highlighted the tablets slim 7.35mm profile and four speakers.
The speakers feature a built-in amplifier, surround sound and Clari-fi Audio Restoration, so at the very least, they ought to sound a lot better than the tiny ones on your current tablet. The 5.5-inch display features Full HD resolution, which puts it on par with other mid-range devices, and it comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with a modest 2GB of RAM.
On the inside of that aluminum body lives an octa-core Kirin 930 processor paired with either 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage in the silver model, or 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage in the gold version. Both will be available in the USA sometime in the first quarter of 2016.
