Huawei P10 Lite leaks ahead of imminent announcement
The Mobile World Congress 2017 officially opened today in Barcelona, where some of the biggest names in mobile technology gather annually to show off their latest products. However, unlike the LG G6, the smartphones don’t offer Google Assistant, nor is support for Google’s Daydream VR platform included. The new design is good and work from the design aspect looks well.
The fingerprint scanner is also now on the front, rather than the back, acting as a haptic-feedback control key. The screens of both the smartphones are protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5, and supports fast charging as well. You won’t find any camera bumps on the dual-lens setups as well, which are housed in a glass visor alongside the flash. As with the P9 and P9+, the new P10 phones come in two sizes. Which is quite a significant upgrade especially in the monochrome mode, as the P9 just had a 12-megapixel monochrome camera. Pricing and a release date weren’t announced.
One of the main features on the new phone, which comes in two sizes, it its camera. Now Huawei looks to follow up with the second iteration – the Huawei Watch 2. Dubbed Watch 2 and Watch 2 Classic, both feature 1.2-inch, 390×390 displays, heart rate sensors, GPS, NFC for Android Pay, water resistance, and, obviously, Android Wear 2.0. There’s also a low-energy Watch Mode that will offer up to 40 hours of use with a mere 10% charge, and 25 days on a full charge.
The watches have two buttons and come with microphones and speakers. The P10 Plus comes with a 3750mAh battery.
Unlike the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, Huawei’s opted for the similar camera setups on both sizes of its phone. A strip across the top on the back houses dual Leica-branded 12MP and 20MP rear cameras, and on the front you’ll find an 8MP front camera.
A couple of hours later, Huawei posted the same image but with a different caption that reads, “The Huawei P10 is coming and we’re excited to announce that we’ll be continuing our partnership with Leica Camera”. The blue and gold versions will be available in the Hyper Diamond-Cut finish, and the green, rose gold, silver, black and gold models will come with a sandblast finish.
It is rumored that the Huawei P10 may feature a 5.2-inch display and can house an octa-core Kirin 960 processor. Huawei Smartphones and Watches are making their way to India and can be expected as soon as May 2017.
