Huawei’s rumoured Google Nexus 6 will come with USB-C
These partial specs seem to be spot on and kind of go hand-in-hand with everything we’ve seen thus far.
The LG Nexus specs show it will be the smaller device many hoped would arrive last year as it will sport a 5.2-inch panel with “rough” measurements of 146.9mm x 72.9mm x 8/9.8mm.
New details of the Huawei-made Nexus have emerged courtesy tipster OnLeaks, who in a tweet has claimed that the handset will feature a 5.7-inch display, front-facing speakers, and will pack USB Type-C, possibly the 3.0 version. A fingerprint sensor for the device also surfaces again today, after we saw it make a potential appearance in earlier images posted by Onleaks.
Coming towards the Chinese manufacturer Huawei, we’ve been hearing word about a potential partnership between Google and the company, through which the software giant gets to promote an App Store in the every growing Chinese market and Huawei gains worldwide exposure for its smartphones. This coincides with previous rumours, which also suggested that the Nexus 5 would have a Snapdragon 620 SoC.
Google obviously hasn’t confirmed any of this, after all, it won’t be announcing its new Nexus phones until mid October. The purported dimensions of the Huawei-made Nexus are 159.4×78.3×6.6mm, while the handset is said to measure 8.5mm at its thickest point.
The Huawei Nexus 6 is also tipped to feature a metal body, which is an increasingly popular material for smartphones a la the iPhone 6 Plus and the HTC One M9.
Feature wise, both rear fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port will be making it on the Huawei Nexus phablet as well. Google hasn’t been great at keeping its Nexus devices under wraps before announcement in the past and this time is no different.
“The LG Nexus will pack a 5.2” in a (probably) metal body.
Google’s 2014 Nexus 6 was deemed to be very large with its 5.96-inch display.
