Huawei targets new versions of smartwatch at women

The Mate 8 runs on Huawei’s EMUI 4.0, based on Android marshmallow 6.0. The GX8 is a new smartphone announced Tuesday that will be sold online and unlocked for use on AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks.

The Mate 8 is also a dual-SIM smartphone that supports nine 3G bands and 18 4G bands, which Huawei claims makes it suitable for business travel. The Mate 8 will launch in 30 countries – but not the United States – starting at 599 euros ($650), in line with flagship models from Apple and Samsung. Under the hood is a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 Processor paired with 512MB of RAM, and also on offer is 4GB internal storage.

The latest device from Huawei features a rear-facing 16 Mega-Pixel (MP) camera as well as smart camera features such as Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Huawei’s new Image Sensor Processor (ISP).

For now, Samsung is the dominant leader of the smartphone market, with a 23.8 percent share, followed by Apple with 13.5 percent, and Huawei as a distant third with 7.5 percent, according to IDC.

Still, the main draw for the Jewel and Elegant is basically its looks, with both watches boasting rose gold-plated, 316L cold-forged stainless steel bodies and Italian leather straps in either blue of white. The gold-colored Nexus 6P will be available in both the 32GB and 64GB storage models at BestBuy (both online and in select stores) and on the Google Store beginning today.
