Huge 9GB patch paves the way for Bloodborne’s expansion
With just four days remaining before the new Bloodborne expansion is made available for PlayStation gamers to enjoy in the form of The Old Hunters a new Bloodborne patch has been made ready.
Sony also went into exactly how players can unlock the Old Hunters expansion once they plop down the $20 for it.
To start, boot up Bloodborne’s base game and take down the Cathedral Ward boss. Light the lamp in Hunter’s Nightmare and it will let you use Hunter’s Dream’s Awakening Headstone to visit Hunter’s Nightmare whenever you want.
Go to the Hunter’s Dream and receive the Eye of a Blood-Drunk Hunter from a messenger.
Go to the Oedon Chapel and leave via the left-hand exit to enter the square.
The Bloodletter is wielded by Brador, an ancient Hunter and assassin, (and now likely an enemy). In other words, you must plunge it into your own chest in order to unleash its true power. While we don’t know too many details about each individual weapon and gear set, it’s safe to say that we’ll have a few fun new toys to play with in The Old Hunters – including a new rune called The Beast’s Embrace, allowing players to transform into a beast themselves.
Of course, there is free content on the way as well.
Title update 1.07, available today, adds new features and drastically changes the online component of the game. Update 1.07 is joined after you get an Impurity Rune from Summon Master Valtr and summon him in the small house next to the Forbidden Forest’s first lamp. Climbing the ranks requires that players consume Vermin, which are obtained after successfully completing co-op sessions.
If you are the player using a summoning bell, you will now have the option to see phantoms or ghosts of other players also searching for co-op or multiplayer. That assumes they are within the correct level range and would be able to match with you.
