Huge Google Pixel Slate press pics leak, revealing key features and specs
Google will be unveiling the Pixel 3 along with the Pixel 3 XL at this event. The most awaited device in this event is going to be the Google Pixel 3. Do you own a pixel smartphone from Google? Following the latest development, a Hong Kong retailer has already begun to sell the devices in the market, and Engadget already got its hands on the Pixel 3 XL.
The cryptic but fun media invite comes with a simple clue that includes “I 3 NY” phrase, hinting at the Pixel 3 with the numeral in the heart emoticon. Google has managed to add portrait mode using AI, and it does a brilliant job compared to other smartphones with dual camera setups. Reports suggests that the phone could come with IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. Based on the images, it seems like the new Pixel 3 XL will have a design similar to the Pixel 2 XL, apart from the fact that it adopts a notch, seen on the iPhone X.
If there are any more surprises planned by Google. As far as the design is concerned, the Pixel 3 XL looks nearly similar to its predecessor – Pixel 2XL – from the back, but the front design of the phone has been revamped.
Meanwhile, a 128GB variant of the Pixel 3 was said to retail for 1269.99 Canadian dollars (£749.83/$977.00). Previous leaks have revealed that the Pixel Slate will support dual boot with Chrome OS and Windows 10. The display may an aspect ratio of 3:2, and have multi-touch and stylus support. Images that detail how the phone’s camera achieves supposedly impressive results when taking pictures and even a video offer a more thorough look at what’s to come. A Smart TV Kit that will pack Chromecast and Google Home Mini into a single bundle is also expected.
Renders of the up and coming tablet have been leaked alluding to the presence of stereo speakers, USB Type-C port, detachable keyboard, and the nonappearance of an earphone jack. It features a keyboard with circular keys, Google Assistant button, and pins that will allow the Slate to dock. It will reportedly be called Pixel Slate and can double as a lightweight and easily portable laptop. Another noticeable feature the device has is Active Edge. While we thought the leaks might die down before the official launch on Tuesday, October 9, the opposite has happened. Keep in mind, this is a company that launched an AI-controlled camera at last year’s event.
Wake via voice: If a fingerprint scanner is too much for you then you may be able to wake up your new Chrome OS tablet with your voice.
That’s good news if you held off on buying the Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixelbook, Google Home, the current Chromecast, or the Google tabl. wait, no one was buying Google tablets in recent months. The Pixel 3 may cost slightly less.
