Hugh Jackman being treated for skin cancer again
This is not the first time Jackman has been treated for skin cancer. When he had it checked out, it was confirmed: he had skin cancer. Click through to see the scary picture, and his urgent message! The actor says his cancer is an example of what happens when you do not use it.
Jackman explained that he had experienced basal cell carcinoma (BCC), a type of skin cancer, after years of not using sun cream. “USE SUNSCREEN PLEASE!!” The growth removed from his nose was the fourth on that site, the other being on his shoulder according to EW.
Hugh has undergone four skin cancer removals in the past 26 months. That’s why Hugh so fervently told his followers to slather on the sunscreen!
Basal-cell carcinoma is the most common, and treatable, form of skin cancer.
The actor’s experiences led Jackman, a co-founder of the Pure Growth Group, to launch that company’s Pure Sun Defense children’s sunscreens last May.
The first time was after a makeup artist noticed a little spot of blood on his nose while he was filming X Men: Days of Future Past and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 60, also urged him to get it checked out.
The Sydney-born Jackman said in May that he now goes to checkups every three months.
“Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked”. The symptoms of this cancer are inflammation, acne scars, and tumorous outgrowth on the affected skin. “I’m Scots/Irish heritage and (that’s what I get) for spending a misspent youth in Georgia with no sunscreen”, Macy said.
The Australian actor, who also starred Australia alongside Nicole Kidman, told People Magazine a year ago that he was shocked to learn the news of his diagnosis.
