Hugh Jackman Thanks Wolverine Fans for 17 Awesome Years
But as of now, our favourite Logan has chose to hang up his boots, and we can not help watching the video when Hugh Jackman first auditioned for the role of Wolverine in the 2000 film X-Men.
Logan is now showing in theaters. X-23 in “Logan” plays similarly to the original version on some parts, as she teaches Wolverine parental responsibility over the young mutant. Shown over 4,071 screen, Logan is the first R-rated film to have such a wide release. Recalling work on a previous X-Men film, Jackman said, “I stabbed the (stunt) double for Mystique right in the arm”.
Logan could be Jackman’s last outing as Wolverine, although there has been talk of the actor reprising the role for a cameo in a Deadpool film.
For much of Logan, the events that have led Wolverine, Xavier and Caliban (Stephen Merchant) to live in seclusion south of the border are somewhat mysterious.
Directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, Dafne Keen, and Patrick Stewart, Logan is in theaters now.
Well, none so far (but that’s likely to change in the near future given how much praise her performance in Logan has received). The woman, a nurse for a military organization called Transigen, is murdered and the child seemingly escapes. “But to quote my favourite actor, in the world, the great Australian Hugh Jackman, who, by the way, was People’s sexiest man alive way before me, Americans are the most generous country on the planet”. The haul is even more impressive since the ultra violent film is rated R, rather than the more inclusive PG-13. However, by the time these interactions begin to feel truly meaningful, the film rushes to a close.
Wolverine cusses, drinks smokes and takes as many pills as he can to drive away evil thoughts of a wasted life coming to an end due to the adamantium in his claws slowly poisoning him. Look, if that movie had appeared 10 years ago, probably a different story, but I knew two and a half years ago that this was the last one.
So while there might not be any post-credits scene for Logan, the movie’s ending certainly serves its objective in leaving viewers wondering what’s to come next for the franchise, but also feeling satisfied by the events they’ve just seen unfold on-screen.
