Hugh Jackman thinks Tom Hardy would make a ‘great’ Wolverine
It’s something Hugh Jackman said he wouldn’t mind seeing when asked about who might be the next actor to unleash Wolverine’s adamantium claws. Tom Hardy has proven his wonderful acting chops over and over again, and has also become a favorite in geek culture after turns in films such as Inception and Mad Max: Fury Road.
Jackman said: “I haven’t really given it a lot of thought”. I’m sure they’re already talking about it, and there’s some actor [they’ve told] ‘shh, keep it quiet but we want you next.’ He’s younger than me for sure.
Jackman has previously revealed that he will retire as the clawed superhero after he makes the sequel to 2013’s solo movie The Wolverine.
Expectations are high for Hugh Jackman’s final performance as Wolverine. Would you like to see him take on Wolverine as well? If Jackman had to choose, he would pick Tom Hardy to to fill the role. Wolverine is the poster boy for the X-Men, particularly in the films, and though the star power of the whole cast has increased since X-Men: First Class, it’s hard to imagine the studio will just be done with Logan.
“I’m trying to do something with this that is a little special, a little different”.
“The ultimate plan is let’s start shooting next year”, he continued. Is Tom Hardy the right guy to be the next WOLVERINE?
“I’ll be really honest with you, the actual script in its full form we’re up to about Page 60”, Jackman told Collider during the Pan junket. Or do you have ideas of your own? With that announcement, discussion as to who the person that could replace Jackman has cropped up.
