Hulk Will Reportedly Return to Co-Star in Marvel’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
While it’s yet to be officially confirmed by Mark Ruffalo or Marvel, JoBlo is reporting that an “inside source” has confirmed that Ruffalo will be reprising the big green guy, Hulk, in the third Thor film, Thor: Ragnarok.
Of course, it’s not likely that Hulk died in that crash, but since Age of Ultron, Marvel hasn’t said much on when we might actually see the character again. It’s unlikely Marvel would follow the storyline exactly, but it’s a neat way to re-introduce the character outside of his element. After the success of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and the recent announcement of ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, not to mention the upcoming CIVIL WAR, it appears “ensemble” is the new “solo”. No matter how you slice it, dropping Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok makes sense in the grander scheme of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it answers where Hulk might have gone after Age of Ultron, and it gives Thor a few needed Avengers assistance as he conducts his search into the mystery of the Infinity Stones.
Well, maybe Marvel does have a plan after all (you don’t say) – the latest rumours about the MCU suggest that Hulk is set to appear in Thor: Ragnarok.
Regarding Mark Ruffalo, the actor is said to be absolutely part of the supporting cast of Thor 3 and will be featured prominently as Banner.
Hiddleston’s quotes here refer not only to Thor: Ragnarok but also Loki’s potential resurfacing in the Avengers films.
According to the report, Thor will team with the Hulk as Asgard faces a Norse Apocalypse. But, will this launch the long-rumored Planet Hulk storyline?
The rumor also states that a third planet, in addition to Asgard and Earth, will factor into the film’s plot.
In the “Planet Hulk” story arc, Illuminati believes that the Hulk is an uncontrollable danger to Earth, and send him off to the far corners of space where he can not hurt anyone.
Thor: Ragnarok is slated to open in theaters on November 3, 2017.
