Hull boss Steve Bruce flattered to be linked with England job
Hull City are interested in bringing Ryan Mason to the KCOM stadium, Steve Bruce has told the Hull Daily Mail, however the Tigers are a long way off completing a deal.
He is now in Portugal with Hull preparing for the club’s forthcoming campaign back in the Premier League and while he is treating links to the England post as pure speculation, he says he admits he is seriously flattered to be mentioned as a possible contender. All we want to see is an England team playing with the energy we see in the Premier League every Saturday afternoon.
Steve Bruce added the injury to McGregor will likely require an additional goalkeeper to be signed before beginning their Premier League campaign at home to champions Leicester City on August 13.
“Yet we go to tournaments and we’re wrapped up in fear”.
Shearer said: “I get that there is not a huge list of suitable English candidates”.
Bruce said: “It’s obviously a huge blow to lose both of them, and it’s also a worry for Allan and Alex”.
“We haven’t been given the biggest of transfer kitties, especially when you see what other clubs are spending, but we’ll do our best”.
“Call me old fashioned, but we’re now holding umbrellas up as our players get off a plane”. It would be a highlight to help England. “But if he did become available then he’s the sort of player who would interest us”.
Despite the way they played at Euro 2016, England have players who are in fact capable of challenging, and they need a leader who will make them believe that to be the case. Well, let them get wet.
“Nick Barmby had put the pre-season plan into place and, on the whole, this has been a fairly happy place for us as we’ve always got off to a decent start”. We’ve got to address that.
